The video is low quality but detailed and should give you a really good understanding of how to install any aftermarket headlights on the Edge. A word of warning: the narrator repeatedly says 7/22-inch instead of 7/32-inch but ignore him.

Blackout Tints - When Only 5% VLT Will Do

Blackout Tint Film - The Good Stuff

The murdered out look is all the rage but getting just the right film for the job can be difficult. There has been some confusion among our customers lately about what is blackout film and, really, that is completely our fault. Although it has been well over a year since we switched, we used to refer to our static cling film for years as blackout. When we realized that this was doing more harm than good because the static film actually had a blue hue to it and only blocked 80% of the light we switched to a true blackout film.

True Blackout Film?

So, what is a true blackout film anyway? Well, for starters, the blackout film we now offer is the same VLT as limo tint window film. In addition, Rtint blackout film is self-adhesive which will allow you to semi-permanently install it on even the craziest of curves.

Customer Rebate Photos - The 2011 Chevy Camaro with Blacked Out taillights

In the video and photo above you can get a good idea of what Rtint, high-gloss blackout film really looks like. Buying online can be hard precisely because you're rarely sure how an auto accessory is going to look on your car whcih is why we offer the rebate program. As you can see, the proof s in the pudding.

Vehicle Graphics - Side Striped Saturn Sky

Saturn Sky Side Stripe Graphics

Rvinyl has been in the business of vehicle graphics for years now but what makes Rgraphics different from anyone else? Well, because we are completely dedicated to DIY customization we do not have a shop where you can drive in and have your vehicle customized for you. It is this fact which keeps our prices so low and allows us to put our time and energy into designing better and cheaper products for you rather than paying high overhead for a storefront space.

What are some of the features of Rvinyl's Side Stripe Vehicle Graphics?

All vehicle graphics, racing stripe, side stripes and fender stripes are pre-mounted and pre-spaced for ease of installation. Even better, we use a special medium tack mounting tape that sticks to graphics with less force than the vinyl will adhere to your car meaning that once you get it on the vehicle in the correct position removal is easy.

Windshield Tints - Always a Good Idea

The Effects of Solar Radiation

There is still a lot we do not know about the ways different types of solar radiation impact upon our health (let alone on our car's paint jobs) so it is always hard to make an informed decision about how to best protect oneself. Many people many not have even realized, for example, that there are two distinct types of solar radiation UVA and UVB rays about which we must be concerned. So, what are they?

visiblelightuvdiagram.jpg

UVA and UVB Rays

Both UVA and UVB rays are so-called ultraviolet radiation which is simply the same thing as visible light (i.e., electromagnetic radiation) albeit vibrating at a frequency our eyes didn't evolve to see. Anyway, the difference between these two is simply that UVA is long wave radiation whereas UVB is short wave. The long wave UVB is traditionally what scientists and doctors have been concerned with because it is lower energy and penetrated only to the level of the skin where cancers are thought to originate. However, recent research is showing that we need to be concerned about both types and learn to protect ourselves from the full spectrum of UV rays.

Windshield Tint Visor Sun Strip

How to Protect Ourselves?

Obviously, sun screen is an excellent idea as well as avoiding things like tanning booths and seeking shade at any time. One way to do this is through the use of window tint film both at home and in your car. Although many articles on the subject do not specifically mention the damage UV rays can cause to your eyes it goes without sayingthat they too are susceptible to the same type of damage as your skin. As such, you should always consider windshield visor strips when choosing a tint package for your car or truck to give yourself as complete a protection as possible.

eWindow Tint Installers - How to Find Reputable Installers

How to Find Reputable Installers?

First, make a list of at least five potential tint shops that would likely do good, quality work. Ask your friends, family and co-workers who have had their cars tinted which tint shops they chose. Then, do the following:

  • Check Yelp for recommendations.
  •  Look for tint shops that have a quality, informative website and/or advertisements in well-known magazines and get prepared to get price quotes from local, reputable tint shops.

Once you have your list of tint shops you are considering, its time to dig a little deeper. Either call them on the phone or stop by without an appointment, see how they react to your unexpected arrival. Regardless of how busy they may be, a reputable shop will spend time to try to win you as a customer.

Window Tint FAQ
How difficult is it to install Pre-cut Window Tint Kits?

Although installing precut kits is significantly easier and less time consuming than installing film by the roll, it can still be a difficult process. Although many sites claim their kits are easy to install, we recommend you review the installation procedures outlined to make sure our product meets your needs. Installation difficulty depends on the ability of the installer, the particular windows being tinted and the compound surface of the rear windshield as it will require heat shrinking for proper installation. Front and rear windows are generally relatively easy to tint as they rarely require heat shrinking.

What Dash Kit application tools do you recommend?

eWindowtint recommends the use of our Professional Window Tint Application Kit with DVD.

How much does it cost to have my windows professionally tinted?

The cost of tinting depends on the film being used and the vehicle being applied to.  In general, the cost is $300 - $500 for a complete window tint installation. If you are purchasing this kit and plan on having a professional installer apply the tint, you will generally not save money.  Installers profit is derived from the labor, not the film costs and it is in their best interest to have as many billable labor hours as possible. These kits are designed for the do-it-yourself minded individual, if you plan on having this kit installed professionally we recommend you purchase their film and installation service.

My vehicle has factory window tint installed, what does eWindotint recommend?
Factory installed tint is generally rated between 15% and 20%, we recommend you review the tint laws section of our site for applicable front window tint laws in the state your vehicle is registered. When installed properly, it will be difficult to distinguish factory from after-market film saving you hundreds of dollars in installation fees.

Do you offer a warranty?
eWindowtint offers a Standard Warranty film (3 years) and a Lifetime Warranty.  These professional grade films are guaranteed to not fade, peel, crack, bubble or turn purple when installed by a licensed professional. Warranty protection is only applicable for professionally installed film kits. eWindowtint will guarantee that the film will not fade or change color, we can not extend any further warranties unless this film is professionally installed.

What is the legal window tint shade for my state?
Window tinting laws vary from state to state and province to province. Before applying any window tinting materials, you should thoroughly review the appropriate state regulations as well as local enforcement policies to insure compliance with all applicable standards.

These PDF summary charts are the result of independent research, using several sources of public state documents, they do not serve as a legal document.
