The Benefits of Vinyl Headlight Tint

What are some of the advantages of tint film over spray painting your lights? Well, in a recent post from the Rvinyl blog, they provide a nice summary of the benefits. Take a look:
  • Self-adhesive tint is semi-permanent and can be removed without causing damage to the composite or glass headlights.
  • The cost of tint is generally less than the cost of spray tint and the labor to have your lights painted.
  • If you decide you don’t like the color you can remove the tint and select another–you have to buy new headlights if you spray them.
  • When you buy from Rvinyl you get an installation guarantee that provides you with low-cost replacements.
Suffice it to say that when you buy from eWindowtint.com you get the same guarantee and the benefit of years of experience in the field.

The 2006 Dodge Dakota - Woodgrain Dash Kit

Img_1263
The 2006 Dodge Dakota was the only entry in the pack of pick-ups released by US and import manufacturers to come equipped with a V8 making it a powerful and attractive option for many truck lovers. What's more, Dodge seems to have given more thought than Ford or GM to comfort and handling by furnishing the 2006 Dakota with the smoothest ride in town. The cab of this year's Dakota provides ample space for occupants and their stuff (whether "stuff" consists of toolboxes or the kiddies' backpacks), a part or full-time 4-wheel drive and full-size pick-up towing capability.
Surprisingly, the 2006 Dodge Dakota contains a great number of updates despite the fact that the truck was completely redesigned ony one year previously in 2005. Some of the salient updates are a new optional sunroof, enhanced audio system with a port for MP3 players, extended cab rear doors that open almost to a full one hundred eighty degrees and an updated transmission. Most important for the present post, as we shall soon see, the interior of the Dakota feels more like a car than it does a truck. The controls are well-placed and designed and are all within easy reach of the driver. The aluminum trim and white gauges add style but, as reviewers have pointed out, the materials used on the dash pales in comparison to some import pick-ups. Nonetheless, the Dakota lends itself well to aftermarket mods such as vinyl dash kits and the Crew Cab is without equal when it comes to adult carrying capacity.

The 2009 Dodge Caliber SRT - Defying Classification Everyday

The 2009 Caliber has always hit me as an unusual choice of a successor the Dodge Neon. Don't get me wrong; I like the Caliber's design but it's 5-door, high-seating arrangement and spacious interior. However, the SRT is updated and turbocharged for the speed audience with the engine throwing 285 power through the top side wheels. Perhaps Dodge was a little bit puzzled when they designed of the Caliber as its nearest competitors are the Matrix or the Vibe but, remarkably enough, neither of these vehicles come with the option to update to motor anywhere near as highly effective as that available with the SRT4.

Despite the fact that the Caliber does not neatly fit into a category it is clear that its design and energy make it stand out from the audience.  The SRT designs obtain the essential cover information, along with a couple of experiencing to the back ports in the cover. The front side cut bristles with opportunities, enabling a lot of circulation through the capable grille-work to the inter-cooler and rad. As opposed to some fantastic vehicles, all the opportunities in the SRT-4 are complete. Surprisingly the power-train in this little monster produces some major heat that has to be dissipated. Ongoing the concept of anger are the distinct looking 19-inch five-spoke wheels and 225/45R19 wheels that complete the rim bore holes perfectly. Thanks to their slim spokes, the shiny red coloured braking mechanism calipers front side and back are clearly noticeable at all times. In respect to the internal, most testers acknowledge that the sprint components are sub-par but that is very good information for a company that focuses on restyling vehicles.

Dark Smoked Taillights on 2006 Audi A4

Audi completely remodeled the ever-popular A4 in 2005 and included an even more powerful motor without improving the size. The glass front head lights enhance the recently developed grille similar to the one found on the bigger A6. As well as being equipped with the modified front-fascia components, the A4 has also debuted the use of shaded bumpers that match the body colour to five a seamless and aerodynamic look.
In conjunction with these external features the flared and extremely curved wheel wells of the A4 is rounded out with what seems to be just the least sign of a spoiler on the back area. The double exhaust pipes provide not only an increase in performance of the A4 but give its back end an even more competitive look than a single pipe would. All in all the 2006 A4 is a masterpiece of design and most testers acknowledge it is well worth the money, especially in comparison to upmarket opponents such as BMW.

Smoked Headlight and Taillights - How to Measure and Install a Tint Wrap

How to Measure your Primary and Secondary Lighting

You will need the following supplies:
• A cord or tailor's tape (you can find these at any fabric store)
• A permanent marker to mark the cord
• Tape to hold the cord or tailor's tape in position

First find the points which are representative of the greatest width and height. Record or keep the end of the string at one end and unwind it until you arrive at the other end. You may actually end up determining both the width and depth of the lamp but, because you are going to be using a two-dimensional piece you can consider as a single plane. This technique should be used on all lights to be wrapped.

*Be sure to add an extra two inches to each side in order to provide an area which can be handled and trimmed away after installation. Failure to do so can result in poor adhesive and bubbling after the job has been completed.

Headlight Wrapping - Smoking Out Your Headamps

When smoking out your front side lighting you should always be sure to keep visibility and safety to the fore. We recommend the use of headlight film only on vehicles to be used for show purposes; smoked out headlights are not intended for use on public roads.

For the most part, most heasdlights will need at least 24 by 24-inches of vinyl per light to be able to be fully wrapped. Therefore, if you want to buy one piece of film for the pair you would need to buy a 48-inch piece.

Taillight Wrapping - Smoked Tail Light Covers

The same issues use for taillight tinting as for those above. The taillight assemblies can vary amazingly in style, size and shape but it is almost certain that you will need at least 24-square inches wide per light for adequate coverage. In general we recommend selecting an additional 12" when measure for taillights as there are often trunk and reflector sections not found with headlights.

Car Light Wrapping Instructions

How to Determine the Roll Size Needed

Although we will give you the estimated lengths needed for each type of job later we want to first offer you a more detailed understanding of how to measure the areas to be wrapped with tint film. You will need the following supplies:

  1. String or a measuring tape
  2. A Sharpie or pen to mark the string
  3. Masking or low-tac tape to hold your measure in place

First identify the points representing the maximum height and width of the light. Tape or keep the end of the cord at one end and unfurl it until you reach the opposite end. You may actually end up calculating both the width and depth of the lens but, because you are going to be using a two-dimensional sheet you can regard it as a single dimension.

Using the same strategy used record the width, proceed to record its height. When you have measured both dimensions you will need to add an extra 2 " wide to each to be able to ensure you will have enough tint for the job and to allow you to handle the film. It is very important that this step not be missed because body oils and over-handling are two of the significant causes which cause to delamination and lack of adhesion.

Headlight Wrapping

When tinting out your front lights you should always be sure to keep visibility as your first concern. We suggest the use of smoked tint on front lights only on automobiles to be used for display purposes. In general, most headlights will need at least 24 by 24-inches of vinyl each to be able to be absolutely covered. Therefore, if you want to buy one section of wrap to tint the pair of headlamps you would need to buy a 48-inch sheet.

Tinting Taillights

The same concerns apply for taillight tinting as for those above. Tail lamps can vary widely in size and shape but it is almost certain that you will need at least 24-square inches per light for sufficient protection.
Smoking-out Fog Lights
Fog lamps are usually smaller than the head or taillights although there are some significant exclusions out there such as certain Subarus. As such, one twenty-four by twenty-four inch wrap kit will be sufficient to film both fog illumination and you should have enough remaining over to add used components to your part indicators or third braking mechanism illumination.

The 2003 Ford Mustang - Dark Smoke Tail Light Kit

The 2003 Ford Mustang saw the return of the come back of the Mach 1.  As we have mentioned in previously content, 2003 was an extremely good season for the Ford mustang due to the point that GM axed its Chevy Camaro and Pontiac Firebird from development which remaining it the last horse car status. The 2003 design is simple on the sight with the attribute long cover and shorter outdoor patio and many design elements harken back 30 years to previously designs. The cover and back outdoor patio are made of blend content that decreases bodyweight and an  incorporated spoiler accessories the back.  An extra design feature is the wipers that have aerodynamic pizza to keep them placed at high connections. All in all, there can be not much more we can say about this car except that it shows time and again to be one of the most well-known trips out there.

The Overhauled 2006 Honda CIvic - An Appeal to Generation Y

If you missed the name of the current weblog then allow me to say it again: Honda redesigned the 2006 Civic from the ground-up. Some of the most considerable upgrades were improved fuel-economy, a more highly effective 1.8 liter engine, sportier exterior style and a range of top quality features that improved an already excellent interior. The 8th Gen Civic also represents Honda’s attempt to entice Generation-Y buyers as it looks to modify its market from the Babt Boomer generation. It’s no surprise then that the 2006 Civic is both more structured and higher-performing than any other since the line’s starting in 1973.

Yellow Smoke Fog Lights - 2008 Toyota Camry

It’s not daily that you get the type of images we’ll be publishing soon but tricked out 2008 Camry with yellow-tinted foglights is a beauty to be sure. He also seems to have had a body kit installed making it appear all the more fierce. Another simple but valued element of his design is his inversion of the Toyota logo, the meaning of which I’d be really fascinated to know. Check out the Rvinyl Blog here for more pictures: http://blog.rvinyl.com/2012/07/06/yellow-smoke-fog-light-wraps-on-a-tuned-2008-camry/

Aftermarket Fog Light Install Video

Rvinyl has just launched a new movie illustrating how to install fog lamps for the 1992 thru 1995 Civic. This step-by-step movie will show you the procedure of setting up LED, Mobile, Projector and OEM style fog illumination for your car made by Spec-D.

Installing upgraded illumination can be a difficult and time-consuming procedure if you are uncertain of how to continue. These install movie clips offer you easy to understand guidelines to ensure an effective job.

Unfortunately, some customers decide that they can figure it out on their own but just because this is a immediate bolt-on alternative does not mean that some wiring is not required. Although we offer these movie clips as an assistance to both professionals and DIYers we always suggest professional installation.

Window Tint and the Environment

We hate to be depressing but with the environmental situation being what it is we can't really pretend like everything's fine and go on with business as usual. It's pretty much a fact that the environment is heating up at an alarming rate. These hotter conditions could cause catastrophe for any number of reasons but insect-borne disease, famine, war and flooding are just some of the highlights you can expect...

Anyway, let's take a second to breath and regain our composure and remember that we aren't helpless here. Let's all ty to do our part by changing to multiple or zero-fuel vehicles like the Nissan Leaf. Once you've got your low or no-fuel car consider including economical window tints from an ecologically accountable company such as eWindowTint.com who produce on a micro-scale and rely on existing city facilities in NYC.

July 4th and a Mustang!

[[posterous-content:pid___0]]It's the 4th of July! Somehow how it seems appropriate that the first post released (maybe the only to be released at that) would be the Mustang   given that it is the most well-known sports-esque car in The US. And, looking at the pictures published, it’s not too challenging to see why. Say what you want about Ford, the Mustang and North American automobiles but there's just something about the style of these automobiles that I cannot get over. I just really like the look of these late-model horse automobiles. And, the Rvinyl pre-cut trim kit only increases the look of the interior especially when you pick a dark carbon fibre or gloss red kit. You may think that is improbable for under $50 but let these pictures are worth a thousand words. With that I'll wish you a great 4th and bid you adieu!
